SALFORD BRIDGE
2013 , MANCHESTER - ENGLAND
PROGRAMME: BRIDGE
STATUS: COMPETITION (FINALIST)
CLIENT: MANCHESTER AND TRAFFORD COUNCILS
SURFACE: -
COST: 1.900.000 €
The project, initiated by the Salford City council, in Association with those of Manchester and Trafford, aims to connect two disjoint spaces: the Park of Irwell and the urban shore. The program provides for the creation of a pedestrian bridge, in order to ensure that the urban dwellers can fully enjoy the green space of the park. In order to materialize the passage of the industrial slope of the city of Salford in the peacefulness of the park, we have proposed an interpretation of organic matter, which takes the form of an arc of steel.
